Sorry for my english but my german is worse.

In what ways do you get help from the goverment or healthinsurance?
Any info is helpfull.
Thank you all. :)

Hi raftafari,

welcome to onlyme-aktion. Unfortunately I have to tell you that the treatment in germany is not as good as it should be. Some of us have to (barely) fight to get a treatment and after all you only get the standard therapy (3-4 Weeks of doxycicline) and everybody tells that you are healed. The only way to get an adequate treatment is to find a specialist for lyme (most of them are really expensive, because they are private doctors, so the insurance wouldn't help you here, unless you are covered by a private insurance). Do you consider to go to a german doctor for a lyme treatment? If you are, then you can find a list of all specialists here:

http://www.dr-hopf-seidel.de/mediapool/87/874128/data/Borreliose_rzte_Liste16-05-16.pdf

they are ordered by the zip code they are practicing in.
Hope that I could help you a bit.
If you have any further question than do not hesitate to ask :)

it depends :-)
I guess you mean medical recognition?
Standard is an ELISA test and if this is positive and your doctor knows a little bit of lyme desease (in german we usually talk about Borreliose) you need a western blot to get the diagnosis and a theraphy with antibiotica.

The second possibility is, you have a (antibodies) positive lumbalpunction, then you will be treated with antibiotica IV and get a diagnosis called "Neuroborreliose"

But if you don't have positive antibody tests you need one of the doctors of the list dnight shows you.

if you fullfill the conditions above you get everything (diagnostics and treatment) paid by healthinsurance

The goverment play no role in this. (although there are a couple of activities, petitions and some politcians who are personally involved, try to help to do more science to help us)
