I am a 24yo male and have been dealing with intense symptoms of brain fog & fatigue for past 15 months.
Basic bloodwork is normal. PCP suspects fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome. She referred me to rheumatologist but they can’t see me for a few weeks so I’m trying to take matters into my own hands.
Also spent year+ in Asia and caught paratyphoid fever. I get rashes semi often and usually just don’t think anything of it.
My PCP recommended waiting until I see rheumatologist as they would better know what labs to order. But is it worth it to get it done sooner? Are most medical practices able to perform tests for Lyme or do I need to go somewhere special? Are there any other tests I should request besides Lyme before seeing rheumatologist? How expensive are such tests usually?
